Follow your deepest desires in life and experience love and joy.

When I was a little girl I loved watching Fred Astaire on my grandmother's black and white television on Saturdays.

He always looked as if he was really doing what he was born for.

I decided that I wanted to be a dancer too when I grew up so full of joy I told my grandmother.

She told me that dancing is not a real profession. You'd better study to become a nurse.
This is a decent profession for a woman and you can earn your daily living with it.

I was so disappointed. All my beautiful dreams were gone with one strike.
In my youth, I was struggling with myself. What would I do with my life?

At 18 I had an accident that caused a severe fracture around my ankle.

So I could never be a professional dancer anymore.

Later on, I started to dance. I took several courses and enjoyed it very much but it still hurts
when I see dancers performing modern dance on stage.
Martha Graham became my new idol.
I read her biography and found it amazing. Such a strong and powerful woman.

As you could read in my former blog piece I went to visit my niece in Germany.

She told me that my uncle, the youngest son of my grandmother, wanted to be a singer and musician.
He was also forbidden to follow his heart.
My other uncle, her father, wanted to be a writer. He also couldn't live his dream.
Those stories struck me with pain in my heart.

Expression is so important in life.

Whether it is in music, dance, writing, or visual arts.

My advice: follow your heart, follow your deepest desires in life and experience love and joy.
